Flower Power

Today is such a wonderful sunny day. I would say that it’s t-o-o-o nice!

I decided to go for a pedal on my bike around and around on the lawn. Mom took my bike to Bike Barn yesterday for a service. They adjusted the brakes and fitted a clamp for my water bottle, and it goes so well.

While I was riding around, I spotted some lovely bright flowers in the garden. I rushed inside and asked if I could cut them for a vase.

After a few days the flowers will wilt and die, so I will try to keep them alive forever by taking photos of them and sharing them with all of you to enjoy.

My Birthday Outing to Staglands

Last Wednesday 22 October I turned 10. On Saturday 25 October, Mom took me and my friends Vashdi and Ashley for a picnic birthday outing to the Staglands nature resort, close to Upper Hutt. Here are some pictures Mom took of us.

Castles in the Sand

We live near Waikanae Beach. On Sunday, Dad took us down to Waikanae Beach for a walk along the soft sea sand.

I decided to try my hand at a bit of sand-castle building. Dad helped a bit with the woodwork on the walls. When it was finished, Grandpa took some photos of me and the castle

Colours

At school I was so excited, I leaped into the air, because my teacher allowed me to use the computer in class during my play-break to write as many poems as I liked. I really like writing poems. We had a subject called “Colour My World”, so I decided to make up poems of the various colours. I printed them all out on paper, and just managed to finish before the bell rang. I started with BLACK.

Black night sky
Black cold pavement
Black cat hissing in the night
Dark rotten fruit
Dogs bark when it gets dark
Some cats go hunting through the night
While some sleep all night
Avocado on toast (yum)
Blackberry bush – Oh those thorns!
Hanging from the tree is a big black plum
Black fur from a black cat
Black carpet so soft
Black makes me feel sneaky.

GREY

Grey foggy sky
Grey clouds floating
Rain drips down from the grey clouds
Grey mould sick and old, on the food
Grey cats purring all day
While grey horses go neigh
Mouldy food not eatable
Sitting in the cupboard getting worse
Dad comes home driving in the fog
While the cat plays with the mop
Grey makes me feel depressed.

Yellow sun glows so bright
All day and not night
Yellow dogs go fetch tennis balls
Yellow cats with stripes
Go sunbathing
Yellow aeroplane flying through the sky
Passing country by country
Bananas are yum
But banana split is my favourite
Walking down the street seeing smiles
Makes me happy…
Yellow is my favourite colour
It makes me glad.

Vanilla ice cream
Cold yummy snow flakes
White mountain goats climbing so well
Sometimes I go outside and build a snow-man fun
Dalmatian dogs stay inside

Silver cars driving by
Silver dappled horses running round
With the rider on the ground
Silver nugget so rich
While the sea shines in the sun
Going to the dentist to get a silver tooth
Wolves in the forest have silver and grey fur
Mum cooks with a silver pot
While a dappled foal is lying in the straw
Silver makes me feel proud of who I am.

THE POSSUM

Yesterday my family and I were finishing off the movie Life on Mars. It was getting late and everyone was tired. So everyone got ready for bed, my dad went out side with the dogs ( Benny and Sophie ) so that they could go to the toilet. All off a sudden the dogs bolted away. My dad came and ran inside got a torch and a broom. What is wrong dad I asked. “ a possum fell out the tree”. My dad, brother and grandpa went out to the garden to find the either possum or dog. my dad said to the gran please turn on the outside light. so the gran went outside the door she saw the evil possum behind the car. The possum screamed  at granny and granny screamed back both scaring each other. dad came to the rescue accidentally hit the possum on the head while the dogs from behind him attacked the possum. so it was a little sad for us and a happy day for us (it's because he ate all our walnuts) it was a win win. at least the dogs got their victory. dad put the poor possum in a plastic bag.

First Time

Even though I am still at Primary School, I have decided to start writing down the happenings at home and at school, so that I will be good at it one day, when I am at College.

My name is Brynn Andrews and I was born in Johannesburg South Africa in 2004, so I decided to call my blog BRYNN2004

I go to Primary School in Waikanae at live in Reikorangi with my family, my two dogs, two cats, and two goats. I call it Paradise.
